During the opening, Joelson Vellozo, director of the department of modernization of public management from the Ministry of Planning (MP), highlighted the reciprocity of the Initiative. "In order to succeed, we need a harmony between those who participate: the EU and Brazil." Maria Rosa Sabbatelli, head of FPI-Regional Team Americas at the Delegation of the European Union to Brazil (DELBRA), said that the call was an opportunity for the EU and Brazil to jointly build proposals of mutual interest.
Rodrigo Pinto, from the Commercial Defense and Safeguard Division of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, congratulated the Initiative for including the theme Competition. "Brazil and the EU have an affinity for this issue. Both parties have an interest in protecting their interests. This call is a great opportunity to deepen the partnership, seeking to promote technical cooperation between Brazil and the EU".
Among government agencies, entities and institutions represented at the event were: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), the Ministry of Planning (MP), the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio), the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications (MTIC), the Ministry of the Environment (MMA), the Ministry of Culture, the Central Bank of Brazil, Ibama, Embrapa, National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), Mapa, the National Agency of Cinema (Ancine), the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) and the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology (Ibict).
During the event, representatives from the Delegation of the EU to Brazil and the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented the 10th Call and their thematic areas in detail. Then, the Sector Dialogues Support Facility team clarified the procedures and rules, and gave tips to the participants. Coordinated by the MP, by the Delegation of the EU to Brazil and the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this call has a budget of R $2,459 million, available until December 2019.
The deadline for the submission of Concept Notes (pre-proposals) and Concordances is on April 10. On May 4, the deadline for submitting proposals will be closed. On June 8, the Steering Committee meeting will be held to evaluate the projects, and the results will be sent by email. All the information about the call is available on our website.
