Brazil and the European Union have partnered to exchange information and best practices about their welfare systems. Initially, this exchange will be made through a comparative analysis of the pension structure, indicators and controls in EU countries and Brazil’s General Social Security System (RGPS), which includes private sector workers. A European expert hired with the sponsorship of the EU-Brazil Sector Dialogues Support Facility will conduct a study to gather information on the pension systems in European countries, including aspects such as structure, pension assessment criteria, indicators and control as well as the funding of benefits in addition to successful experiences. Based on the European experience to be portrayed in the study, a Brazilian expert will carry out a comparative analysis of the pension experience in Brazil. The result of this assessment will provide input for further reflection on the control actions performed by the Court of Audit (TCU). Both the study and the analysis will be presented at a seminar to be held in Brazil and in a publication to be produced by the TCU.
