Evaluation of Disabilities after the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities – Comparative Study of the Instrument for Effectuating Social Security Rights in Brazil and Germany

Project Overview:

The purpose of the action is to enhance the disabilities evaluation instrument used in Brazil to approve social security benefits through a comparative study of European experiences in the field and the UN International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (ONU) signed in 2007.

For purposes of executing the proposal, the following measures will be adopted: foreign expert will be contracted to prepare a study on the German disabilities evaluation model applied to approve and grant social security benefits; Brazilian representatives will conduct a study tour of the German Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs; a seminar will be held to present the results of the study; and publication of the project’s outcomes will be released.
