Study on the Brazilian and European Initiatives for the Development of Micro and Nanosatellite Industry

Project Overview:
This action aims to develop and further the knowledge about current experiences with micro and nanosatellites and on the development policies for the sector in the European Union. From this initiative supported by the EU-Brazil Sector Dialogues Support Facility, a study will be conducted on the reality of the micro and nanosatellite sector in both partners. The study in the field of small satellites in the European Union and Brazil is intended to provide a "snapshot" of European and Brazilian companies that operate in this industry, list the incentive policies in this sector and identify and analyse successes and failures so far. Brazil-Europe and Europe-Brazil missions will be organised to enable technical visits to European institutions supporting development in the sector, European companies that produce small satellites and invest in research and development (R&D) as well as Brazilian institutions with initiatives in the field. The expected result of this action is the establishment of a partnership between Brazil and the European Union resulting from a better understanding of initiatives and best practices by European and Brazilian public and private institutions within the context of micro and nanosatellites
