With the sponsorship of the EU-Brazil Sector Dialogues Support Facility, the Human Rights Secretariat of the Presidency (SDH / PR) and the European Union Delegation in Brazil (Delbra) launched the programme “Future at Stake: for Human Rights, for the Children, for the Future”, which aims to educate the new generation and the general public about the importance of human rights and the fight against all forms of discrimination. One of the initiatives of the programme was the Junior Eurocup 2014, held on April 26 in Brasília (DF), which involved the participation of 350 students from 32 state schools, who represented Brazil and the Member States of the Union European. The action also included the production and printing of four booklets with language and visual treatment specially designed to teach children about their rights. One of the booklets presents the 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Another, with support from the creator of “Turma da Monica” (a well-known children’s comic book series), cartoonist Mauricio de Sousa, discusses the importance of the Statute of Children and Adolescents. The third publication also addresses the rights of children and the fourth, called Countries Without Borders provides information about Europe and the European Union.
