The objective of the action is to analyse financial and social security education programmes developed in EU member States, with a focus on group Private Pension plans, for the purpose of strengthening social security and financial education in Brazil.
The initiative resulted in a study prepared by a foreign senior expert, who analysed the effectiveness of the principal financial and social security education programmes developed in EU countries, in particular Sweden, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, and a survey executed by a local senior expert describing the financial and social security programmes and actions undertaken in Brazil, with special emphasis on the Supplementary Social Security Regime (Regime de Previdência Complementar – RPC), as well as an analysis of the effectiveness of these efforts in increasing enrolment levels in and fidelity to the RPC.
Subsequently, the local senior expert proposed new strategies based on the survey of selected European initiatives for possible adaptation to and implementation in the Brazilian context. The studies were presented at a public event in São Paulo as part of the third edition of National Financial Education Week (Semana Nacional de Educação Financeira).
