This action aims to develop tools for the exchange of genetic resources between Brazil and the European Union in accordance with the requirements of the Nagoya Protocol and the Brazilian and European legislation.
To this end, an analysis will be made of models, guidelines, codes of practice and best practice manuals on access and use of genetic resources. This information will be used in monitoring and tracking the utilisation of genetic resources across research and development networks.
The study will serve as a basis for proposing specific policies to ensure safe and legal access to genetic resources and the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from their use. The proposed tools can be used both in Brazil and the European Union.
