Project Overview:

The purpose of the action is to identify experiences in the EU relating to implementation of policies and measures to support access by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to international public contracts, with a view to contributing to the development of an International Public Procurement Observatory, implemented as an electronic portal, providing information on priority procurement markets for the Brazilian government.

To execute the proposal, the following measures will be adopted: an external senior expert will be contracted to perform a survey and analysis of experiences in the EU and its member States in this area; a local senior expert will be contracted to identify and list the principal characteristics and challenges faced by Brazilian companies in accessing public procurement markets in selected countries; a technical mission will be conducted to European institutions engaged in the field; and an event to present and discuss the outcomes of the action will be held.
