This project involves a partnership with the European Union to gather experiences related to the transformation and digitisation of public services with a view to helping enhance institutionalisation of the Brazilian Public Sector Innovation Network (InovaGov), supporting deployment of the Digital Citizen Platform and strengthening cooperation between Brazil and the EU for the successful digitisation of public services.
As part of the project activities, a senior European expert prepared a study on experiences related to broad-based provision of digital public services and best practices in streamlining and improving public services, as well as tools to facilitate direct and active consultation and involvement of end users in the various stages of project design and implementation. In addition, three Brazilian public servants attended a technical mission to France and the United Kingdom to learn about relevant experiences. Three European speakers attended the 3rd Innovation Week in Brazil in order to share European best practices in the transformation of public services from the users’ perspectives.
This helped strengthen the Brazil-EU partnership not only by expanding the interaction between representatives from the participating countries working in this domain, but also by developing materials that could be useful for both sides and by establishing a direct line of communication for the exchange of materials, insights, inputs, and methodologies. The project is expected to generate a proposed intervention that suits the Brazilian context and encompasses the country’s Public Sector Innovation Network and innovation laboratories.
