The goal of this project is to analyse sustainability in air transportation in Brazil and in the European Union with a view to improving air traffic management and enhancing efficiency of this industry by primarily addressing aspects such as governance, the regulatory framework, safety, and infrastructure.
As a result, best institutional and operational practices are expected to be identified based on the experiences of European ANSPs and the Single European Sky (SES) initiative to foster the sustainable development of traffic management systems and also streamline service delivery by reducing costs, CO2 emissions, etc.
Project actions include hiring a senior European expert to carry out the study above and lead a technical mission to Europe to exchange experiences and to visit relevant supervisory and regulatory authorities. Further to this, a seminar will be held to disseminate the knowledge and experience gained, and the process will culminate with the publication of an air transportation report containing the information and recommendations collected by the studies and the mission, which may serve as a go-to publication for the sector.
