Paulo Novais is an associate professor and researcher in the Department of Informatics at ALGORITMI, the Engineering School of the University of Minho. His studies focus on the scientific area of artificial intelligence. In his investigations, he co-authored over 350 scientific articles published in international journals, conferences and books.

Researcher and entrepreneur Robert Wentrup believes that part of the Brazilian population is well aligned with the digital transformation of the country. There are Brazilian startups competing with American and European ones, however, "Many people are still excluded, and this can be explained by economic inequality, which is a major problem in Brazil" commented Wentrup. One way forward, according to him, is to encourage more exchanges and cooperation with countries like the United States of America and the European Union.

He’s been responsible for the EU Office Program at GRADIANT (Galician Research and Development Center in Advanced Telecommunications) since 2010.

Former chief technology officer for the British government and Guardian News & Media, Beale was responsible for the UK government's technology strategy by creating its digital service. She was the creator of KMOL (http://kmol.pt) and co-organised the books "Gestão de Empresas na Era do Conhecimento" (“Business Management in the Age of Knowledge”) and "Dá Pra Fazer – Gestão do Conhecimento e Inovação no Setor Público" (It can be done - Knowledge Management and Innovation in the Public Sector). She is also responsible for the event Citizenship 2.0 (http://cidadania20.com), which promotes projects that use social tools and open data to promote dialogue and participation.
